Al-Nassr willing to pay €15m to sign Tottenham Hotspur target Clement Lenglet from Barcelona
Tottenham Hotspur face an uphill battle in their bid to sign Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet this summer.
As per SPORT, Al-Nassr have entered the race to sign the French centre-back and are willing to pay €15million for him. That is an amount that would please Barcelona.
That is a fee Spurs have been reluctant to meet. And for that reason, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr could succeed in signing the 28-year-old.
He was on loan here last season and was pretty impressive whenever called upon. No one could say that Lenglet struggled to adapt to the Premier League — a league he had never played in before in his life.
Lenglet to the Middle East?
Moreover, at his age, he is at the peak of his powers physically. But it remains to be seen if the former Sevilla man will be willing to sacrifice the glory of playing in Europe for playing in the Middle East.
At this point, we all know the financial power of Saudi Arabian clubs when it comes to offering lucrative contracts. But that doesn’t mean they can go around and sign any player in the world.
European football remains elite given its fan following, overall quality and the level of competition across the continent. Lenglet is hopefully aware of that. But playing for Al-Nassr has its own upsides.
He will be a guaranteed starter there and rub shoulders with Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana and Alex Telles. They haven’t signed a quality centre-back, so their interest in Lenglet seems valid and dangerous to Spurs.

The best thing for the Lilywhites, in this instance, would be to convince Lenglet of the pros of staying in Europe, and particularly, in north London. If we can ensure that, then perhaps Al-Nassr’s interest could fade.
