Lazio submit offer for Tottenham Hotspur-linked Daichi Kamada
Daichi Kamada, who is a free agent right now, has been offered a proposal by Lazio amidst links to Tottenham Hotspur, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (h/t Express).
Spurs have previously been associated with the acquisition of the Japan international’s services. The North London side had enquired about the playmaker. However, he was keen on making a move to AC Milan.
But the Rossoneri have passed up on the opportunity of getting a hold of the midfielder’s signature. Therefore, the Lilywhites seemingly still have an opportunity to sign the 26-year-old.
Unfortunately, it is Lazio who have taken concrete steps to have Kamada in their ranks ahead of the start of the season. At the moment, the Serie A outfit are in discussions with him.
However, the Italians are not the only ones in pursuit of the Japanese. He has two other offers on the table as things stand. The playmaker is expected to make his decision sooner rather than later.
Eintracht Frankfurt signed Kamada in the summer of 2017 from Sagan Tosu in Japan. After hardly getting any game time in his debut campaign in Germany, the playmaker was loaned out to Sint-Truidense in Belgium.
After an impressive spell at the Jupiler Pro League outfit, the Japanese established himself in the Bundesliga outfit’s starting lineup. He was a key player in their success, winning the Europa League in 2022.
Kamada caught a lot of people’s attention in his final year in Frankfurt. The midfielder made 47 appearances in all competitions for Die Adler in the 2022/23 term, playing as a number 8 and in the attacking midfield position, scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists.

At Tottenham, we have already signed James Maddison this summer. The England international was signed from Leicester City and will add much-needed attacking impetus in the middle of the park at the North London side.
Kamada is a bargain option to add to our squad as a free agent in the coming weeks. However, whether Lazio, who have recently lost Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, will get a hold of the Japanese national remains to be seen.
