Turkish giants battling it out for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele
According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are set to battle it out for out-of-favour French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele who plays his football for Tottenham.
It looked for a fleeting period of time like Postecoglou would give Ndombele a chance to revive his Tottenham career but that quickly dissipated. If the pre-season is anything to go by, the Frenchman doesn’t have a prominent place in the Australian’s plans.
Ndombele has always been an enigma of sorts. He possesses immense potential and talent and still looks like he can come good any time. However, he has failed to convince any manager truly until now.
Once a genuine star for Olympique Lyon, it looked like Tottenham had gotten their hands on a gem when they signed him back in 2019. Safe to say, the reality could not have been further away from that.
Three seasons and two loan spells later, Ndombele’s career is very much at a crossroads. Not wanted at Tottenham and not really attracting any interest from top European clubs, the Frenchman has a career choice to make.
Whilst the Turkish league is not the most high-profile option that there is, at this point, it could be a move that will help Ndombele rediscover his best level. Only then can he attract the elite of Europe again.
If the right offer is made, Tottenham will be willing to sell him this summer and rightly so. It only makes sense to let the player find his niche elsewhere whilst getting him off our books, albeit at a loss.
Postecoglou can change his mind and choose to keep the Frenchman at the club for the time-being. If that is the case, then it will definitely be a last-chance saloon for the talented player and it remains to be seen if he takes it.
