Dejan Kulusevski excited to play under “angry” Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski is excited to play under Ange Postecoglou at the North London side, with the season starting on 13 August.

On Sunday, the Lilywhites will take on Brentford away from home in the first Premier League match of the 2022/23 term. However, before that, Spurs will play for the Joan Gamper Trophy against Barcelona on 8 August.

Tottenham put in an impressive performance against Shakhtar Donetsk in London on 6 August. We beat them with an emphatic scoreline. Speaking to the media via (football.london) after the 5-1 victory, Kulusevski expressed his delight with Postecoglou.

“I like him a lot. Also at half-time he was very angry because we stopped playing for five minutes and you cannot be like that. You have to play always. Just because you’re tired, you [can’t] let them have the ball.

“Things happen like that. So I like him a lot and I’m looking forward to improving under him.”

Harry Kane opened the scoring for Spurs against the Ukrainian outfit. However, just before the break, the visitors managed to equalise. As a result, we went into half-time level on goals.

However, the North London side came out flying for the second 45 minutes and put on a show for the home fans. Kane found the back of the net three more times and completed his poker.

Then, in stoppage time, Dane Scarlett, who replaced the English skipper in the 80th minute, was set up by Kulusevski. The Swedish national also assisted one of the 30-year-old striker’s goals.

Tottenham got the 23-year-old initially on loan from Juventus in January 2022. Since then, the forward has been impressive for us and has made a considerable impact in the team.

Unfortunately, in the previous campaign, did not look sharp after his injury midway through the first half of the 2022/23 term. In 37 appearances in all competitions, the winger scored two goals and provided eight assists.

Hopefully, the Shakhtar game is not a one-off. Under Antonio Conte, the team struggled to put in consistent performances. It will be interesting to see whether that will change under the Australian manager.
