Ange Postecoglou not keen on Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku as Harry Kane replacement at Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is not keen on adding Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku to his ranks as a replacement for Harry Kane, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Spurs had attempted to make contact with the Belgium international’s camp when Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte were still at the club. However, now, the Australian manager is not a big fan of the 30-year-old.
As things stand, Kane is close to parting ways with the North London side. Bayern Munich have agreed a deal with the Lilywhites and it seems to be only a matter of time before the England international is unveiled as a new player at the Allianz Arena side.
The 30-year-old has been our talisman for several years now. Having made a place for himself in Tottenham’s starting lineup in the 2014/15 term, the striker has developed into one of the best players in the world.
In the previous campaign, Kane was Spurs’ only reliable outlet up front. The forward found the back of the net 30 times in 38 Premier League appearances for us. Unfortunately, the North London side were unable to count on the other attackers.
Therefore, Tottenham will evidently need to bolster their front line if Kane were to leave. However, Lukaku does not look like the right option. The English skipper is a proven goalscorer, while the Belgian has showcased his profligacy over the years.
First, the striker failed to make a mark at Manchester United. Then, his time at Chelsea has also not been encouraging. The former Anderlecht was also inconsistent at Inter Milan while on loan last season.

We have Richarlison in our ranks right now. If Kane’s departure becomes official, the North London side will evidently have to rely on the Brazilian to lead the line next season. Although the 26-year-old did not have the best debut campaigns, hopefully, he will be able to turn things around next season.
