Barcelona defender and Tottenham Hotspur target Clement Lenglet deemed expensive by AC Milan
AC Milan deem Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet expensive amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur in him, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com.
The Serie A giants have the French national on their radar to bolster their backline in the ongoing transfer window. As things stand, the Blauhrana are looking to part ways with the centre-back.
To that end, teams in Saudi Arabia have tried to get a hold of his signature. But the 28-year-old is not keen on a move to the Premier League and would like to return to the Premier League.
However, it does not look like a move to the Rossoneri will end up materialising under the current conditions. The San Siro side are not too keen on the cost of the operation.
Tottenham got Lenglet on loan for the 2022/23 term last summer. The French national has lost his place at Barcelona since Xavi’s arrival. The Catalan outfit have the likes of Ronald Araujo, Jules Jounde, Andreas Christensen and Eric Garcia in their backline.
At the North London side, the centre-back enjoyed regular game time in the previous campaign. The defender made 35 appearances in all competitions for Spurs and started in 24 league matches.
Milan have the likes of Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw in their ranks. But they were unable to retain the Scudetto last season as Napoli pipped them to the league title.
At Tottenham, Micky van de Ven has been added to our ranks. However, the North London side have also shown interest in Lenglet this summer, as per Spanish outlet Sport.
