Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane feels it was the right time to leave the North London side after completing his move to Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians have acquired the services of the 30-year-old in the ongoing transfer window for a £120 million package deal. Daniel Levy tried to convince the striker to sign a new contract but failed to convince the England international.

Speaking on social media via football.london, Kane revealed that he would be leaving the North London side. The forward did not want to go into the 2023/24 term, with uncertainty around his future distracting the club.

“So I felt like this was the time to leave, I didn’t want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved future talk. You know, I think it’s important for the new manager and the players to concentrate on trying to get Tottenham back to around the top of the table and fighting for trophies.”

The English national made his way through the youth ranks at the North London side. After a few years out on loan at different clubs, the striker got his chance in the Lilywhites’ first team in the 2014/15 term.

After that Kane did not look back and developed into one of the greatest strikers at Tottenham. In the previous campaign, the forward broke Jimmy Greaves’ record and became the North London side’s leading goalscorer of all time.

In the 2018/19 term, the English skipper was a key player for us as we made it to the Champions League final under Mauricio Pochettino. Unfortunately, Spurs lost out to Liverpool.

Kane has ended his stint at Tottenham without winning a trophy. A player of his calibre arguably deserves a few accolades in the cabinet. At Bayern, silverware is guaranteed almost every season.

However, the English skipper’s departure will be a big miss for Tottenham. In the previous campaign, the academy graduate was the only reliable attacker in our ranks. He scored 30 goals in 38 appearances in the Premier League for us.

It is understandable that Kane wanted to leave Spurs and we can only be thankful for his services. Hopefully, the North London side will be able to quickly move on from this.
