Lazio are interested in Tottenham Hotspur veteran Hugo Lloris
According to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport, Italian side Lazio are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and are looking at ways to get this deal done.
It looks like the player and Tottenham are looking to negotiate a contract termination. This would see the Frenchman leave the club on a free transfer. However, there is a catch – there is a sudden interest in Lloris from elsewhere.
With Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois sidelined by an unfortunate ACL injury, the Spanish giants are now combing the market for a suitable replacement between the posts. L’Equipe raised the intriguing possibility that the eyes of Los Blancos might turn towards Hugo Lloris.
Hawkins delves further into the matter, revealing that while Lloris was indeed an option presented to Madrid, the realm of alternatives holds other custodians who currently occupy higher rungs on the club’s shortlist.
It becomes evident that despite having a year remaining on his contract, the once-flagbearer of Spurs’ captaincy is poised for a new chapter in his illustrious career. It is time for a change for both the player and the club.
The years he spent between the White Hart Lane posts have forged a legacy of resilience and excellence, and the club seems prepared to honour that legacy by granting Lloris the freedom to explore fresh horizons.
If Lloris leaves the club, Tottenham will not have much of a problem. The French stalwart seems to have already been sidelined by the club evidenced by the fact that he was not a part of their pre-season plans.
Subsequently, they also signed the impressive Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli. The Italian custodian has had a good start to his life as a Tottenham shot-stopper and the club will bet on him for the future.
