Tottenham are ready to reignite their pursuit of Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to reignite the pursuit of talented Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus this summer.
It comes as no surprise that days after Harry Kane left the club, Tottenham are continually linked with a list of strikers. There are many names that the club can consider and one of them is Vlahovic.
This is not the first time that we are hearing Dusan Vlahovic‘s name linked with Tottenham. The 23-year-old has been linked with an exit from the Italian giants this summer and Spurs are a serious option.
Vlahovic made a name for himself at Fiorentina where he was scoring goals for fun. This caught the eye of quite a few clubs but it was Juventus who managed to snap him up back then.
However, the Serbian’s time in Turin hasn’t been plain sailing. He has not been able to replicate the kind of form he showed before his move to Juventus but the potential is there for everyone to see.
Stylistically, Vlahovic is a very different profile from Harry Kane. He is a much more traditional number nine than the Englishman. Whilst he can replicate the goal numbers, Tottenham will miss Kane’s creativity.
In 42 goals for Juventus last season, Vlahovic scored 14 goals and provided four assists. These numbers don’t really scream as being spectacular but in a much more attacking setup like Tottenham, these numbers should improve.
Ange Postecoglou has a very difficult decision to make. Who does he sign to replace Kane? Maybe, does he want to trust Richarlison in the number nine role? These are tough questions to answer.
