Tottenham are willing to spend more than €40m for Juventus star Gleison Bremer
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to spend more than €40m to try and sign talented Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer from Juventus.
Central defence has been an area of concern for Tottenham recently, and it’s not hard to see why. With only Eric Dier as the lone senior centre-back option available, manager Ange Postecoglou has been walking a tightrope.
Especially when considering the unpredictability of injuries, the absence of a solid backup plan is a situation that Tottenham cannot afford to linger on. It is arguably the only position on the pitch where the club are very thin right now.
Gleison Bremer, a familiar face in Massimiliano Allegri’s lineup at Juventus, has caught the attention of Tottenham’s scouting team. At 26 years old, Bremer is at the peak of his career and has established himself as a vital cog in Juve’s defensive machine.
His consistent performances and leadership qualities have not gone unnoticed, making him an attractive prospect for the Premier League outfit. While Bremer has enjoyed success in Serie A, the allure of the Premier League might prove too tempting to resist.
The English top-flight is renowned for its intense competition and global appeal, and many players dream of testing their mettle on its grand stage. A move to the Premier League could be the challenge Bremer is seeking to elevate his career to new heights.
However, Tottenham should be aware that they are not the only English club with their sights set on Bremer. The defender has also piqued the interest of some of their rivals, setting the stage for a potential bidding war.
The Lilywhites’ intent is clear – they want to wrap up this deal as swiftly as possible. The urgency reflects the gravity of their need for reinforcements in central defence. If Bremer’s signature is secured, it would provide the much-needed depth and quality.
