Destiny Udogie reveals what he is learning from Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou
Speaking on Tottenham’s matchday programme (via Football. London), left-back Destiny Udogie has revealed what he is learning from Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou.
Udogie has been one of the revelations for Tottenham this season. If not for the fact that he was signed last summer, he could very well be called one of the signings of the season and we will not be far off.
What the Italian has done for Tottenham in such a short spell cannot be put into words. He has completely made the left-back position at the club his own and no one can take it away from him at the moment.

Something that really catches the eye when it comes to Udogie is the fact that he is very resilient and seems to have the tendency to bounce back. He struggled initially against Bukayo Saka in the Arsenal game but boy, didn’t he put on a show after that!
When it comes to Postecoglou, he has placed immense trust in Udogie until now. Despite his young age, the Australian manager has already made him a first-choice member of the team and the Italian has not disappointed.
Speaking about what he has learnt from Postecoglou until now, here is what Udogie had to say
“Ange and his staff work really well together. We trust the manager, the way he makes us train, shows us how to play and how to stay calm under pressure. I think every manager teaches you something new and the gaffer is teaching me how to play inside more so I’m getting used to it and developing a lot”
A feature of Postecoglou’s Tottenham team has been the use of inverted fullbacks. Both Udogie and Pedro Porro have inverted a lot this season and despite that not being their natural game, the duo have performed amicably.
Udogie is someone who can do the other part equally well too which is to go to the byline and cut the ball back into the box or cross it in. According to the opposition, Postecoglou can choose how to use him.
