Injured Tottenham star Brennan Johnson expected to be fit after international break
According to the Evening Standard, injured Tottenham Hotspur winger Brennan Johnson is expected to return to action soon after the upcoming international break.
Brennan Johnson has been out of action since the North London derby against Arsenal last month due to a hamstring issue. Since signing from Nottingham Forest on deadline day, the fans have not been able to see much of him.
That said, the Welshman’s return could not come sooner for Tottenham. The club are on thin ice when it comes to attacking options and Johnson, when he is back will be able to fill the void in multiple roles.
Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic are both injured and likely to be out for significant periods. Son Heung-min is battling with fitness concerns of his own but is likely to play through injury whilst managing it.
Richarlison is another Tottenham player who has struggled with form and fitness ever since his move to the club. It is high time he steps up when it comes to performances because he is a much better player than the stats seem to suggest.
Tottenham face Luton Town this weekend and the only thing they will want is for the club to get through this period unscathed. Club football will then break for the international window. By the time it resumes, Johnson will be ready.
Tottenham have had a very impressive start to the season but things haven’t always gone to plan for the club. Injuries are not something once can plan for and it is just bad luck that we find ourselves in this position.
Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that all the players he has injured recover well and return as soon as they can. The return of Bryan Gil which is imminent will also help the club with regards to squad depth.
