Ange Postecoglou provides a worrying injury update on Tottenham winger Manor Solomon

Tottenham Hotspur star Manor Solomon promises ‘strong comeback’ after surgery

Injuries are always a part of the game that we love and adore and it tends to affect teams in the most unfortunate of ways. The latest victim of this cruel fate is none other than Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Manor Solomon.

To get an idea of how cruel injuries can be on a team, one just needs to turn around and look at Manchester United. They have three left-backs, two first-choice centre-backs and their first-choice right-back all ruled out with various injuries at the moment.

One look at Tottenham’s left-wing paints a very grim look too. Bryan Gil has been out for quite a while now and is arguably the closest to returning to action alongside maybe Brennan Johnson who has also suffered an injury of his own.

Now, coming to the long-term injuries. Ivan Perisic suffered an ACL injury and is expected to miss much of the current season. Manor Solomon has also now undergone surgery and will be out for a while.

That leaves us with Richarlison and Son Heung-min as options to play on the left wing. One of the two need to play as the number nine and it is mostly the latter who has played in that role this campaign.

Richarlison is an adept left-winger but his fitness has not been the greatest over the past few seasons. His form and inconsistency are also issues that have been plaguing him for way too long now.

One of the injured left-wingers, Manor Solomon has put out a tweet on X, vowing to come back stronger after undergoing surgery.

“Not an easy one to take for me personally, but I’ve already started my rehabilitation in order to come back as soon as possible and stronger than ever. Thank you all for your support, looking forward to seeing you soon on the pitch”

Despite all the glum with respect to injuries, Tottenham have continued to soar high under Ange Postecoglou and find themselves first in the Premier League at least for the time being. What a season it is proving to be.

It is still early days though and only time will tell us if we can sustain this in the long run. Consistency is what is most important and injuries will really not allow us to do what we want to. Let’s see if Postecoglou can build on this and make this a memorable campaign for all of us.
