“Unbelievable” – Ange Postecoglou reveals the best trainers in the Tottenham Hotspur squad

Postecoglou names three Tottenham players who are unbelievable in training

Training is arguably the most important aspect in preparation for a match in football and generally, the best players around the world are great trainers. Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has some “unbelievable” trainers at his disposal too.

Often, the players who don’t train well do not get the manager’s nod to feature in the game. It can lead to a lot of issues. Just look at the fiasco between Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho of Manchester United for an example.

While it might seem like great trainers are usually automatic selections in the playing XI for a game, at Tottenham, that does not happen to be the case according to the record of our gaffer Ange Postecoglou.

Speaking after defeating Luton Town 1-0 despite being down to 10 men for almost 45 minutes as quoted by Football. London, Postecoglou gave a very interesting example of who the best trainers at the club are

“The reality is 11 players will play and some players have had more game time than others. I mentioned it to the lads this week, if you see our training our best trainers are guys like Ben Davies, Skippy, Emerson Royal – unbelievable training, and these guys aren’t playing”

It is a very interesting quote to observe from our gaffer. If his words are indeed true and these are the guys who are the best trainers in our squad, then what is stopping them from getting regular game time?

It could be that the players who they are competing with in their position might just be of much superior pedigree. How can Ange Postecoglou drop either Pedro Porro or Destiny Udogie to accommodate Ben Davies or Emerson Royal?

The interesting one here is Oliver Skipp. Whilst Yves Bissouma is almost untouchable, the other role is something that the Englishman can compete for. Pape Matar Sarr has been impressive but not without his errors.

Ideally, Postecoglou must start preparing Skipp for that role since both Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma will have African Cup of Nations duties to fulfil early next year. By that time, Rodrigo Bentancur should be back too.

Obviously, Emerson, Skipp and Davies will not be happy with their situation at the club. However, a season is not made up of 2-3 games and their importance cannot be neglected in the long run.
