Tottenham Hotspur are interested in VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy
VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is making the top clubs in Europe sit up and take notice of his exploits and English giants Tottenham Hotspur have also now joined the race.
The 27-year-old arrived at the MHPArena earlier this summer and has proven himself to be an inspired acquisition. In fact, the Guinean ace averages more than a goal a game and has been unable to stop scoring.
His goals have propelled Stuttgart to the dizzying heights of second spot in the Bundesliga after seven games, not bad for a side that had to go through the relegation playoffs to secure their status in the top flight last season.
Not many players can claim to have outscored Harry Kane in recent years but Guirassy has the English skipper trailing in his wake in the race for the Bundesliga Golden Boot. He has now scored 14 goals and two assists in just eight games for Stuttgart across all competitions. Calling these numbers prolific would be an understatement.
According to Fichajes, Tottenham are now keeping a keen eye on Guirassy and could make a move for him in the upcoming transfer windows. Having lost Harry Kane in the summer, the North Londoners lack a reliable goalscorer to lead their line.
Stuttgart are not averse to selling their star man but Tottenham will need to splurge around €40million to land the 27-year-old. The price should prove to be a pittance if he continues to rake up the same numbers at the N-17.
Richarlison, for all of his intent, has struggled to fill the void left by Kane and is far from prolific. Tottenham are a solid attacking outfit and could elevate their game with a reliable goalscorer leading the line. Whether that player is Guirassy remains to be seen,

While Guirassy is enjoying a sensational purple patch, Tottenham are better off waiting until next summer to make their move. After all, even Papiss Cisse enjoyed a fine few months at Newcastle United before fading into obscurity.
