Report: Tottenham ready to break the bank for triple summer transfers in 2024

Tottenham Hotspur have earmarked Mikel Merino, Victor Osimhen and Edmond Tapsoba as 2024 summer transfers

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a resurgence under Ange Postecoglou and can only keep improving as long as they get their transfer right in the coming windows.

Spurs are coming off a good 2023 summer transfer window that saw them bring in several promising players for the senior side. Postecoglou has done his best to integrate them into his methods and so far it is paying off huge dividends.

Spurs are currently unbeaten in the league and within touching distance of early leaders Arsenal. While talks of a Premier League title tilt are premature as of yet, the signs are promising.

It is now imperative that we continue to strengthen in the coming windows and build upon the base we currently have. That appears to be the plan as Spurs have prepared a mouth-watering wishlist for the 2024 summer window.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are eying not just Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen but also Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba and Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino.

Merino, in particular, would be a smart addition and would complement the energetic duo of Yves Bissouma and James Maddison. Add to it Pape Matar Sarr and Postecoglou will have a roster ready to take the league by storm.

Osimhen, on the other hand, will be nothing short of a marquee signing. If Spurs currently have a glaring weakness, it is the lack of an infallible goalscorer following the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

The Nigerian international will set us back around €120 million but is a reliable goalscorer who topped the Serie A charts last season. Having solidified his legacy in Naples, what is to say that he cannot repeat the trick in North London?

The additions of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romeo have transformed Tottenham’s fortunes at the back. They were linked with Tapsoba before as well but a deal was not agreed upon. Next summer, it would appear that the pursuit will be re-ignited.

If all goes well, Tottenham should be armed with UEFA Champions League football and also hopefully a trophy at the end of the current season. It should certainly enhance our reputation and make us a more favourable destination for the best players in the world.
