Massimo Luongo reveals Australia are firmly behind Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is the first tactician from Australia to be handed the reins of a Premier League club. This has seen him gain considerable backing and attention from down under.
Having earned his stripes in the SPL with Celtic, Postecoglou certainly arrived at the N-17 with a solid reputation. All the hype appears to be real as he has adjusted well to life in North London and has transformed the club’s fortunes.
Spurs are currently top of the Premier League standings heading into the October international break. While the season is still young, there are enough reasons for the Tottenham faithful to be optimistic.
Now Ipswich Town star Massimo Luongo via Sky Sports has weighed in on how the nation down under feels about Postecoglou. The 58-year-old certainly has caught the imagination of his countrymen and appears to have gained considerable backing.
“What he’s doing now is incredible. Every Aussie is following him now, I think every Aussie is secretly a Tottenham supporter. It’s great to watch from afar.”
It is always good to see new managers and players make their mark. Postecoglou is now a hero of sorts to his countryman and there could certainly be an upsurge in support for Tottenham from the Socceroos.
Touted as someone who craves success, Postecoglou is exactly what Tottenham needed. We have been in the wilderness far too long and the time is now for the club to build something that not only guarantees success on the field but also ensures it is sustainable in the long run.
“He’s got so much passion for the game, he’s just hungry for success.”
Luongo is well versed with Postecoglou having made his Australian senior debut under the 58-year-old in 2014. The Spurs boss led the national side for four years from 2013-2017, leading them to the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
