Manchester City star Jack Grealish lauds Tottenham Hotspur star Ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou has been a breath of fresh air at Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City star Jack Grealish is now among those to smell the coffee.
Spurs are currently unbeaten in the Premier League this season and are top of the table as we enjoy the October international break. While the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are all within touching distance, there is little to besmirch what has been an excellent start to life in North London for Postecoglou.
It is not easy to live up to expectations at Tottenham and few get the pulse of the club. The Australian certainly appears to be one of those and has quickly and efficiently endeared himself to players and fans.
Jack Grealish currently works under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, one of the finest managers to ever grace the game. He certainly can distinguish between top tacticians and the words in praise of Postecoglou speak for themselves.
Speaking to the press ahead of the friendly against Australia (h/t Football Daily via X), the England international admitted that not only have Tottenham started off the season strong but also play eye-catching football to boot.
“I think they’ve been brilliant to start the season the way they have and the football that they’re playing. I think they’ve been brilliant.”
Given that Postecoglou is the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, his stint is garnering significant interest among fans of the game down under. It was perhaps inevitable that questions on him would be entertained in the leadup to the clash against England.
Either way, Grealish’s words do not sugarcoat the 58-year-old’s achievements. Tottenham look a far more threatening and ambitious side than we have known them inr recent memory. Hopefully, it only gets better the more we see of Ange ball.

Curiously, Jack Grealish potentially could have been a Tottenham player had Daniel Levy shown more decisiveness. But that point is moot now and we are in a good place ourselves. Hopefully, the early promise translates to more concrete success down the line.
