Former Tottenham coach Antonio Conte takes a dig at the club in recent interview

No matter how great of a manager Antonio Conte is, the reality is, after his departure from the club, Tottenham have played much better than before, and have looked a completely new side under Ange Postecoglou.

Conte, ever since parting ways with the club, has taken time off football and says he wants to take time before returning back to the game.

The contrast between Tottenham’s form before and after Conte’s tenure is stark. The change in playing style and the players’ attitudes have been noticeable, and this shift has resonated with the supporters.

“When I come back, it will be very hard for everyone else… I will be ready to give battle.

“After Tottenham, I promised to dedicate time to family, it’s a lifestyle choice — one day, i’d like to coach a team that has recently won.”

Conte’s subtle dig in him saying he wants to coach “a team that has recently won” is surely not in good faith towards the Lilywhites. While Tottenham have had a fair share of successes, including impressive runs in the Premier League and cup competitions, lifting a trophy has remained elusive.

Good riddance, Antonio!

Conte’s comment appears to imply that he feels the need to manage a club that can deliver immediate success.

From the club’s perspective, it’s essential to maintain professionalism and focus on the present and future. The transformation under Ange Postecoglou has been remarkable, and the team is currently enjoying a positive run in the Premier League. The past is behind us, and the present-day Spurs are playing with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.

In 76 games that Conte managed for Spurs, we accumulated a total of 135 points which comes down to 1.78 PPM. While his legacy at Tottenham is acknowledged, it’s evident that the club has embraced a new era under Ange Postecoglou’s leadership.

The focus should certainly be on firmly on building for the future, striving for success, and maintaining the excellent form displayed in recent games.
