Tottenham contact Galatasaray for Arsenal target Kerem Akturkoglu
Tottenham Hotspur have apparently contacted Turkish outfit Galatasaray to sign Kerem Akturkoglu, who has also been linked with Arsenal.
According to Turkish outlet Aksam, Spurs also asked for permission to speak to the player. It is said that negotiations could take place for the 24-year-old in January.
Akturkoglu has spent his entire professional career in Turkey, moving to Galatasaray in 2020 on a free transfer. Since then, the nifty left winger has registered 34 goals and 37 assists in 135 games for the club.
He has a good age profile and can add significant depth to our team which lost Harry Kane in the summer. We notably did not sign any replacement for the position.
Good move?
We need players to step up in case Son Heung-min or Dejan Kulusevski encounter injuries because Richarlison can now play as the No. 9. Bryan Gil is yet to play a single minute this season.
Manor Solomon, though, has been pretty impressive at times and is also a good option for depth. There is no real reason why we should make a move for Akturkoglu.
His contract expires in 2026 (Transfermarkt), so let’s see what valuation Gala put on him if they are willing to sell him at all. Arsenal’s interest can always be troublesome, even more so because they can offer UEFA Champions League football.
Mikel Arteta, like Ange Postecoglou, isn’t shy to give first-team opportunities to new, young players as well. Manchester United are also said to be interested in him, with Jadon Sancho’s future up in the air.

It is good to know that Spurs are laying the groundwork for signing the player. Hopefully, we have done enough to ensure that other teams don’t step in and that Gala, who bought Davinson Sanchez from us this summer, prioritise our interest over others.
