Ange Postecoglou makes bullish claim about Tottenham Hotspur’s title charge this season
Ange Postecoglou has confidently claimed that he won’t be surprised if Tottenham Hotspur go on and win the title this season.
For many, including some Spurs fans as well, Tottenham are the Premier League leaders after eight matches. We have 20 points, the same as Arsenal, but lead on goals scored.
We are yet to taste defeat this season and have already been in several situations during the opening couple of months that showcase our mettle as title contenders. From late wins in stoppage time to winning games with a man down, Tottenham have earned this lead.
Postecoglou is the man behind this change in form. Reinvigorating the team and instilling belief so quickly after coming in, and especially after losing Harry Kane, is noteworthy.
The right man for the job
The Australian-Greek manager, meanwhile, says that while others view Spurs with curiosity and surprise, he knows the hard work that is going into these performances. For him, it won’t be a surprise if we win the title come May.
He said, via Sky Sports:
“I still think we have so much more improvement in us and that is what I am looking at. And if at the end of the year we are in the main leaders, it might surprise a few people, but it won’t surprise me because I have no set targets and wherever we finish, is where we finish.”
The former Celtic boss always seems to know the right thing to say. He just seems to be the perfect man for the job — one who is genuinely invested in the Tottenham project and who cares about the club and the fans.
He doesn’t seem like a manager that loses hope if success doesn’t come instantly. He has a philosophy, of free-flowing, attacking football, which seems to work wherever he goes. So, who are we to question it?

His tactics, speeches, belief, and training regime can all contribute towards our title charge. But he can always use help. Hopefully, Daniel Levy is happy with the work that he is doing and is ready to fund a few signings in January.
A new striker, a centre-back, and maybe a new No. 6 makes sense, especially if there are injuries. We need all the help we can get to beat the competition we have been put up against.
