Tottenham could offer huge salary increase to Arsenal target Kerem Akturkoglu
According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Tottenham Hotspur could offer a huge salary to sign 24-year-old Turkish sensation Kerem Akturkoglu, who has also been linked with Arsenal.
Turkish publication Aksam (h/t Football.London), also talked about Liverpool and Manchester United’s interest in the player, along with the Gunners. He has made a huge name for himself in Turkish football since joining Gala in 2020.
And that is why a number of English clubs are after him. Apparently, he earns around €300,000 yearly at the Turkish, a figure which Spurs can take to around €2-2.5million.
Now that would be an increase to consider for any player. West Ham United are also said to be interested in him. Akturkoglu can play anywhere across the frontline but usually plays as a winger.
Go for it
We need that kind of versatility for depth. Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn, Harry Kane, and Erik Lamela have left in recent years. And we haven’t really signed a lot of players to replace them.
Apart from Kane, none of them were consistently world-class. But our signings in that position in recent seasons have also been dicey, with perhaps Dejan Kulusevski being the only one meeting expectations.
Perhaps it is time to beef up the team with real, world-class quality, Akturkoglu may not be that but he can surely become one under Ange Postecoglou. He has all the raw minerals to do so.
