Tottenham to send scouts to track Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu
25-year-old left winger Kerem Akturkoglu is a Tottenham transfer target. The Turkish international, who currently plies his trade for Turkish giants Galatasaray is subject to a scouting mission from the Lilywhites when the Red and Yellows take on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
At the moment, Ange Postecoglou has the likes of Bryan Gil, Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon on his books among the players who could play out from the left flank. However, what Akturkoglu offers is versatility.
The player is more than capable of playing down the right flank and has the experience of playing as the focal point in attack and functioning as a second striker.
Turkish publication Milliyet Skorer claims Tottenham’s interest in the player further stating that Spurs shall send scouts to watch the player.
In 17 appearances across all competitions this season, Akturkoglu has five goals and seven assists to boot including a strike against Manchester United at Old Trafford in Gala’s 2-3 win over the Red Devils.
Our new setup has also seen Ange play Richarlison out from the left with Son Heung-min in strike and Dejan Kulusevski on the right-hand side. The fact that the Brazilian has not been able to explore the best of his abilities down the left flank might be one of the reasons why the Lilywhites might be looking to bring on board a specialist left-winger.
The Turkish international has a contract until 2026 (Transfermarkt), which could mean that the ball is in Gala’s hands regarding negotiations.
