Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger rates Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League title chances

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League title chances this season.

Spurs remained two points clear at the top of the table after gameweek 10. They beat Fulham on Friday by a 2-0 scoreline in what was a dominant performance.

Spurs are the only team in the Premier League to be unbeaten across competitions this term. We have beaten teams playing with 10 men, against 10 men, chasing the game, protecting leads, among other situations.

Clearly, Tottenham have already been tested a lot of times this season and we have come out on top on almost every occasion. Speaking about our title chances, Wenger, who is a legend for our greatest rivals, said on BeIN Sports, via Metro:

“If I said after 10 games [they’d be] top of the league… You ask me, not a tricky question because I like always to say what I feel deeply, and I believe Tottenham will be one of the contenders for the league.”

What next for Spurs?

Tottenham are really doing well. There is no reason for anyone to write us off already, unless they really hold a grudge against us.

We have a good attack, a stable midfield, and a very able defensive line. James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have transformed their respective positions on the pitch while Harry Kane’s exit seems like a distant memory.

These are good times. There is also no European football to ‘distract us’. Just getting top four now seems like a disappointment.

Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool won’t let up. But we have been better than them so far this season, as the table proves and we are one of the teams to beat…
