Tottenham star Emerson names Son Heung-min ‘most vocal’ in the dressing room
There are lot of personalities in the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room and the last person you would associate with being the ‘most vocal’ is Son Heung-min but if Emerson is to be believed, that is actually true.
Son Heung-min always gives the impression of being an unassuming character who stays in the background and just goes about his job with the minimum of fuss. He never comes across as a vocal leader.
In fact, this was the biggest surprise when Ange Postecoglou decided to hand the South Korean superstar the armband at the beginning of the season. He has been a surprise and is leading from the front with his performances.
It has now emerged that he is also leading very vocally in the dressing room. We would love to be a fly on the wall of the Tottenham dressing room and hearing Son being commanding and leading his teammates.
Emerson claimed that usually it’s the South Americans who are the most vocal with the exception of Son. Tottenham have quite a few of them in the squad in the form of Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison and Emerson himself.
Speaking to Brazil’s R7 as quoted by Evening Standard, here is what Emerson had to say about his club captain
“Our dressing room is a little different. Everyone has a personality, there are people who are more relaxed, there are people who enjoy being more playful. The South Americans talk louder, the English are calmer. They like silence best. But the most vocal is Son. I say he’s a fake Korean, he acts Brazilian!”
It is quite pleasing to know that the Tottenham captain is a commanding voice in the dressing room. Son Heung-min more importantly is contributing on the pitch with a truckload of goals and is helping the club.
When Harry Kane left the club in the summer, Spurs needed someone to step up. From having a very poor season last time around to being one of the best players in the world at the moment, Son has come a long way.
