Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi
In a bid to reinforce their squad for the second half of the season, Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move to bring Leicester City man Wilfred Ndidi back into the fold in the Premier League.
The 2023/2024 campaign has been a remarkable one for Leicester City, especially after their relegation from the Premier League last season. The Foxes have won an impressive 13 out of their 15 Championship matches. As things stand, they find themselves perched four points clear at the summit of the table, signalling a strong resurgence in their pursuit of top-flight football.
The Nigerian international, who has been a faithful servant to Leicester City since his arrival in 2016, has played a central role in their resurgence. His performances in midfield have garnered attention from numerous top European clubs, making him one of the sought-after talents in his position.
Ndidi’s contract at the King Power Stadium is drawing to a close in 2024 (Transfermarkt), and the North Londoners are certainly eager to secure the services of the highly-regarded defensive midfielder.
In addition to that, according to TeamTalk (h/t The Express), the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have inquired about the midfielder’s availability, underlining the widespread recognition of his talents.
Lyon, Monaco, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Brentford have also closely monitored the situation of Ndidi, meaning the race to secure the player’s services is still wide open.
For Tottenham, the prospect of reuniting Ndidi with former Leicester City teammate James Maddison is an enticing one. The familiarity and chemistry between the two players could provide a significant boost to Tottenham’s midfield, potentially addressing some of the challenges we have faced in the centre of the park.
