Fulham yet to open contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo
Fulham are yet to open contract talks with Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo, as per the Evening Standard.
The 26-year-old centre-back was on Spurs’ radar this summer and apparently, even AS Monaco made an offer for him. But all advances were rejected and the player stayed for another season.
The thing is, his contract runs out at the end of the season, and the Cottagers risk losing him on a free transfer. That is nothing but good news for Spurs.
The report says that Spurs would retain their interest in the English defender and Monaco could also make another approach. And why wouldn’t they?
Spurs should make a move
A player of his quality and pedigree on a free transfer? That is a gold mine. Moreover, he would be a homegrown player, which is always a factor especially if you are in the Premier League.
It is hard to find quality local players who are good enough to be in the starting XI on a regular basis. Cristian Romero’s suspension and Micky van de Ven’s injury have set us back in the title race.
Had we had someone like Adarabaiyo on the team, it would have been easier to navigate this run of games without having to play Ben Davies centrally. Let’s hope the Englishman also has high aims.
Fulham are 14th with 15 points from 14 matches. They don’t look like they will be relegated at the end of the season. But that is where their ambitions would end.

He is also in the prime years of his career, and clubs like Spurs would have other options if the target they want doesn’t become available. If he wants a move to a ‘big’ club, not signing a deal should help the cause.
