Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has shone in North London since making his move to the club from Leicester in the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old was consistently one of the leading midfielders in the league before picking up an injury which has ruled him out until early 2024.

If Maddison returns in the same form following his injury, he could establish himself as an important player for England manager Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024. Maddison has featured five times for his country, but he has yet to secure a regular starting spot in the team.
England Go into European Championship with Strong Claims
The bookmakers make England the 7/2 favourites in the Euro winner betting odds for the tournament next summer. They will be bidding to go one place better than they did at Euro 2020, as they had to settle for the runner-up spot after losing on penalties in the final against Italy.
England have consistently reached the latter stages of major tournaments over the last 10 years. They were semi-finalists at the 2018 World Cup, while France knocked them out of the 2022 World Cup in the quarter-finals.
Maddison is one of several strong options that Southgate will have in his attack. However, there is an argument to suggest the Spurs man can offer him something no other player in his squad can. He is comfortable on set-pieces, he will create chances for England captain Harry Kane, and he is versatile across the midfield positions.
England qualified for the European Championship in Germany with ease, winning six of their eight matches. They finished top of their group with 20 points, landing them an automatic spot in the tournament. Maddison made his first start for the Three Lions in their qualifier against Ukraine back in March and he played his part in helping his country qualify from their group.

Maddison will not be the only Spurs player at the European Championship next summer. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be representing Denmark, and the domestic teammates are set to clash in the opening stage of the tournament, as both countries are in Group C.
Hojbjerg has played 73 times for Denmark, scoring seven goals in those matches. He helped his country reach the semi-finals of Euro 2020 where they eventually lost to England in extra-time at Wembley.
The 2022 Danish Footballer of the Year will be playing in his third major tournament, as he also featured at the World Cup in Qatar. He is a very important player for Denmark who cannot be underestimated at the tournament. With Christian Eriksen, Andreas Christensen, Mathias Jansen and Kasper Dolberg all set to be involved too, they look set to be the strongest challengers in England in Group C.
Good luck to all the Tottenham players featuring at the European Championship in Germany next summer. Hopefully, they can shine for their respective country and at least one of them lifts the trophy in Berlin.
