Manchester United are at risk of losing 26-year-old LB due to a break clause that could see him return to Tottenham in January
Manchester United scrambled to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon as they finalized a deal on deadline day this past summer. Since he arrived at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old has not failed to impress.
However, his stint with the Red Devils could soon be coming to a premature end. According to ESPN, a break clause that is present in Reguilon’s loan agreement could mean that the defender will be on his way back to the Lilywhites in January.
This could come as a major blow to Manchester United as the team is in a bad place and have been dealing with a ton of injury issues. This is a move that might hinder the Spanish national’s growth as he may fall down the pecking order over at Tottenham.
The fans are in awe of Reguilon, it should not come as a surprise if Man United makes a move to permanently acquire the Spaniard.
However, if Manchester United’s Luke Shaw makes a full recovery, Reguilon will once again be scrambling for minutes. Depending on how things go we can expect the entire situation to undergo great developments at the start of January.
Tottenham Hotspur themselves have been going through a plethora of injury issues. As the team prepares to make a run at the title, Postecoglou will be looking to reinforce his squad in any way possible.

The Lilywhites have an easy schedule ahead of them. They will not be facing any of the top Premier League before their match with Manchester United. It is yet to be seen whether we will see Reguilon wearing white or red as the two teams face off on 14th January.
This should come as a breath of fresh air for Postecoglou who has been growing increasingly frustrated with his team’s ongoing injury plague. Moreover, it will help his team to recover and recuperate before they take on the Red Devils.
