Tottenham Hotspur are planning to retain £55m midfielder after seeing him thrive under Postecoglou
Under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou, 27-year-old midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has found a new life at Tottenham. Now, after his sudden burst of form, the Lilywhites are planning on retaining the £55m midfielder.
After James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur were sidelined with injuries, the Spurs’ chief was scrambling to plug the hole in his midfield. Lo Celso was then allowed to shine and the player did not disappoint.
The Argentina star has stepped up time and time again and even ended up on the scoresheet in crucial games against Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Earlier, there were reports about Barcelona looking to work out an arrangement that would bring the Argentinian to Camp Nou. However, as reported by The Sun, Lo Celso will not be going anywhere for the time being.
Tottenham Hotspur are working with a severely depleted roster. The ongoing injury plague has also resulted in a few setbacks to Postecoglou’s campaign. The departure of Lo Celso will hurt the team a lot as they currently lack the proper resources to replace him.
The decision to retain the player comes at a crucial time as the team prepares for a busy transfer window in January.

The lack of depth in Postecoglou’s squad is something that needs to be taken care of immediately. If anything unfortunate unfolds resulting in additional injuries, the Australian-Greek chief will face a lot of difficulty.
Fans are hanging their hopes on new talent arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Hopefully, Postecoglou can get his hands on more players in January as he looks to get his team back on track.
