Pape Sarr sends a sweet message to Tottenham teammate Richarlison via Instagram.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison had a shaky start to the season. The Brazilian went goalless for eight games before scoring three in two. He was particularly influential in Spurs’ away game at Nottingham. The former Everton man opened the scoreline right at the brink of halftime.
Ange Postcoglou‘s men then capitalised on it by scoring another to seal the deal. Apart from finding his form again, Richarlison completed another milestone. The 26-year-old forward completed 50 games with Tottenham across all competitions. He took it to Instagram to celebrate his milestone.
The star’s Instagram post read:
Very happy to complete 50 games for Tottenham in this way: happy, recovered and scoring a goal! Thank you for everything! It’s just the beginning.
The picture he uploaded was alongside teammate Pape Sarr, who made sure he responded with an endearing comment.
Sarr commented, “Richy man” on Richarlison’s post. It appears to be the Brazilian’s nickname within the dressing room. The sweet gesture remains to be the most liked comment on the post.
Richarlison’s status within the club
The former Everton man is enjoying his second season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, it has never been quite ‘enjoyable’ for the Brazilian. Richarlison has scored only eight goals from 50 games for Tottenham across all competitions.
He manages to pocket a considerable amount of playing minutes despite his low run in form. Richarlison quite evidently has the backing of his coach and dressing room.
The fans had given up on him after a horrendous first season where he scored just one goal from 27 games! Richarlison has seen steady progress, if not immediate, so far this season. He scored a brace against Newcastle United while the Londoners thrashed them 4-1. He continued the form against Nottingham, giving fans a new hope.

Richarlison finding his rhythm is perhaps the best thing that Ange Postcoglou can ask for at the moment. All he needs to do is unleash the ‘Everton Richarlison’. The next few games will prove if Richarlison’s newfound form was just a stroke of luck or sheer hard work.
