Tottenham Hotspur received news of Everton star who is going to be sidelined when the two teams face off on Saturday
Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure is set to miss the game against Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday. He picked up a hamstring injury during Everton’s game against Burnley last Saturday.
Injuries are nothing to be celebrated. But, Spurs fans will be happy to know that they are not the only ones dealing with injuries. Tottenham who got off to an excellent start this season were at one point stopped in their tracks due to injury struggles.
But, the fans should not get ahead of themselves as Tottenham will be dealing with their issues. James Maddison, Rodrigo Bentancur, Micky van de Ven and Ivan Perisic will all be missing from the Lilywhites’ lineup.
If anything Doucoure’s injury has somewhat leveled the playing field. Both clubs are now missing a crucial piece from their middle line. Moreover, Yves Bissouma will also be missing from the Tottenham lineup.
Bissouma was suspended for 4 games after he picked up a second red card against Nottingham Forest. His contributions will also be sorely missed. The Ivorian’s careless mistake can haunt a now ill-equipped Tottenham.
Though Doucoure’s injury comes at an unfortunate time for the club, Everton coach Sean Dyche is optimistic about his condition. While talking about the injury situation Dyche was seen to be secretive about his other injured players that could also make a return on Saturday. (h/t The Athletic [paid subscription])
