Ange Postecoglou’s tactics are proving to be a pivotal result in Tottenham Hotspur’s success
According to the latest tweet on X by Squawka, it shows that Tottenham Hotspur have done a new record in the Premier League of scoring in 30 consecutive games and this shows how Ange Postecoglou’s tactics have blended well with the players.
On the other hand, according to the Evening Standard, Ange Postecoglou expresses his enthusiasm for the task of rejuvenating Tottenham, despite facing the most severe injury crisis of his managerial tenure and increasing scrutiny of his tactics.
But at the same time, Postecoglou realised that his players may have had some doubts about him before taking the ground for this match. He added quickly that they all want what is best from the manager as well.
For example, looking at the early-December match against City with which this month got started, we can easily see how Tottenham were on shaky ground in the first half and lucky just to have not already been completely outclassed by Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut. However, later the match ended with a 3-3 scoreline.
Postecoglou encouraged his men to play with greater “intention” in the next half and this, coupled with Hojbjerg’s introduction soon became meaningful. The players paid attention as Giovani Lo Celso and Dejan Kulusevski scored either side of a late Jack Grealish goal to rescue a draw.
Not only did the draw continue City’s wretched run of form against Tottenham — they have won just twice in their last eight Premier League encounters — but it proved Postecoglou’s unwavering tactical approach was the right call.
Several of Postecoglou’s immediate predecessors have managed to defeat Guardiola’s City, employing a comparable approach in each triumph. Despite some players making their way back, Postecoglou still faces challenges as James Maddison and Micky van de Ven will be out until the new year.
