Tottenham sweating on Cristian Romero and Richarlison injuries for Brighton game

Tottenham Hotspur secured a third consecutive win with a 2-1 victory over Everton, ensuring a place in the top four for Christmas.

However, the win came with fitness concerns for key players, Cristian Romero and Richarlison.

Manager Ange Postecoglou provided updates on the conditions of both players after the match. Cuti came off at half-time against the Toffees while Richarlison came off at the hour mark.

Manager Ange also spoke about the pair of players after the game and here is what he had to say via the Independent:

“He (Romero) felt tiredness in his hamstring just before half-time, so we had to take him off.”

“Yeah, Richy’s OK. He’s kind of had a sore back in training (on Friday),” Postecoglou added.

“He wasn’t 100 per cent, but he was keen to start. He got through the game, pleasing for him that he took his goal well and worked hard for us, but I kind of knew that at some point I’d have to take him off.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious.”

On a more positive note, Postecoglou, as we read shared that Richarlison, who continued his impressive goal-scoring form with a fourth goal in three matches, is in better shape.

Tottenham will conduct additional checks on Romero and Richarlison on Sunday as the players enjoy Christmas Day off.

The team will resume training on Boxing Day, and the hope is that Richarlison’s condition remains favorable, especially considering the potential absence of top goalscorer Son Heung-min, who is expected to be away on international duty during January.

As Spurs navigate a busy period with fixtures coming thick and fast, the availability of key players like Romero and Richarlison will surely be crucial for maintaining their positive momentum in the league.
