Tottenham Hotspur’s Oliver Skipp has stepped up in the absence of Yves Bissouma who is currently suspended

Oliver Skipp has stepped up for Tottenham as the team deals with a series of injuries and suspensions. After getting off to a strong start this season, the Lilywhites were in a slump from November to early December.

During this time the roster was stretched extremely thin due to multiple injuries. This highlighted a glaring lack of depth that Postecoglou’s squad has had to deal with. Things got worse for the Spurs after Yves Bissouma picked up his second red card and was suspended for the next four games.

Two players who have been excellent during this stretch are Oliver Skipp and Pape Matar Sarr. Ange Postecoglou has counted on his young talent and time and time again these starlets have proven their worth to the chief.

Oliver Skipp played the full 96 minutes against Everton on Saturday.

Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp were crucial in Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Everton. The game was highly competitive. Despite being up by two after just 20 minutes of play the Spurs were never able to get comfortable due to the Toffees’ relentless attack.

23-year-old English midfielder Skipp won 4 of 5 duels and made 5 recoveries for his team (fot.mob). Everton might have run away with the game or would have at least grabbed an equaliser if it wasn’t for his excellent showing.

His presence on the squad should alleviate any stress that Yves Bissouma’s second red card has given to the fans. Another player who was excellent on Saturday was 21-year-old Pape Matar Sarr. He had three shots on goal and recorded 3 excellent passes into the final third (fot.mob)
