Tottenham scouts in attendance to watch transfer target Radu Dragusin of Genoa
Genoa’s recent 1-1 draw with Juventus had Tottenham Technical Director Johan Lange and chief scout Rob Mackenzie in attendance. They kept a close eye on 21-year-old Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin of Genoa.
The player has been making waves in the Italian first-division and has recently been a regular feature on Spurs’ transfer radar. Moreover, apart from the draw against Juve, the scouts were among those watching from within the stands in Genoa’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo.
That is as per football.london. Dragusin featured on the right side of a back three in both games. If the Lilywhites’ scouts sat for one more game, they could have seen Dragusin score as they drew 1-1 against Inter one week after the game against Sassuolo with the Romanian scoring the equaliser.
Ange Postecoglou would surely benefit greatly if he manages to secure the services of Dragusin. Tottenham are very short on the defensive side of things when it comes to personnel. The ones we have are top-class, but injury-prone and less in number.
Dragusin to the Lilywhites?
Assuming that Ben Davies and Eric Dier leave the club in this window, Spurs will have nobody to choose from when it comes to central defence. The pair of Cristian Romeo and Micky van de Ven currently see themselves out due to injury and we should be grateful that a right-back in Emerson Royal has been putting in a shift as a centre-back, and decently.
At 21, Draugsin offers a great youthful choice for the manager. His ability to slot into a back-three and a traditional back-four makes him an attractive prospect. Assuming Spurs try to mix things up and transition to back-three, the attacking output of our wingbacks, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie could be utilised to the best.
With James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma through the middle, the manager will also retain a sense of balance in the lineup.

Hopefully, Spurs can match Genoa’s £26m ask for the Romanian international soon, and we can have a proper centre-back playing in the heart of our defence at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Not a lot of players would fit this kind of a budget, and Dragusin is the cream of the crop.
