Tottenham Hotspur are in pursuit of a star defender currently playing for Sevilla
According to Spanish media outlet El Chiringuito TV, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to pen a deal for Sevilla defender Loic Bade. The 23-year-old has recently been added to the Lilywhites shopping list this January.
Tottenham have had extremely bad luck with injuries this season. However, it has been something of a blessing in disguise for the team. All of these injuries have been successful in highlighting the squad’s lack of depth.
We have seen Postecoglou scramble for options and play fullbacks at the centre-back position because of a depleted squad. This also explains why the Greek-Australian coach has been relentlessly pursuing centre-backs this season.
The team was earlier looking to bring in Jean-Clair Todibo over from OGC Nice, but all developments on that end seem to have stalled. On the other hand, Fabrizio Romano reports that the team is close to signing a deal for Genoa star Radu Dragusin.
Now the Lilywhites have turned their attention towards 23-year-old Loic Bade. His excellent man-to-man coverage and a tall frame of 1.91m make him an asset for any defence in the world.
Postecoglou has made it a point to only pursue young players as he looks to set the team up for the future and Bade could be the newest addition to that list. However, before we get ahead of ourselves it is important to note that no negotiations have begun as of now.
