Genoa set to get an out-of-favour defender out of Tottenham Hotspur’s deal for Radu Dragusin
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur submitted an official Radu Dragusin bid. The Lilywhites have put an offer of €30m which includes €25m fixed fee and €5m add-ons for the Romanian defender. Genoa are expected to accept their bid.
Also being reported is that out-of-favour defender Djed Spence will be sent on a loan deal to Genoa. The 23-year-old has been struggling with injuries that have led to a lack of playing time under Ange Postecoglou. Hopefully, things will take a turn for the better over at Genoa.
It is looking like an official announcement will soon be made as the Serie A side is preparing to accept Tottenham’s offer. No bids have been made by Bayern Munich who were also interested in Dragusin, and they will likely miss out on this amazing talent.
The Lilywhites’ relentless pursuit of the centre-back seems to have paid off and he will soon be added to their ranks. At just 21 years of age, Dragusin had already cemented himself as one of the best defenders in Italy.
He is a physical specimen standing tall at 1.91m which also makes him a deadly threat in the air. His overall strength, fitness and excellent defensive abilities will go a long way towards helping the Tottenham Hotspur defensive line.
It is not yet known whether the Romanian will replace Micky van de Ven in the starting lineup when he returns or not. Although, the thought of Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin holding down the fort for Postecoglou sounds amazing.
