RB Leipzig’s director has given a hint at what role Timo Werner is gonna play for Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur are all set to complete the loan deal for Timo Werner, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The German forward had long been in the sights of the Lilywhites and they will finalise the deal within a day or two.
Werner has been a prolific producer for RB Leipzig and has recorded 113 goals and 47 assists for the club over 113 appearances. Although he had lately been struggling for playing time with the German side.
As reported by German publication SPORT1 (h\t Football.london), RB Leipzig’s director has confirmed that the 27-year-old will be a regular feature for Tottenham as conveyed to him by the team. Werner truly has an opportunity to get back into form with the Spurs.
A €17m buy option will also be available to Tottenham. He will be counted on to fill in the hole left behind by team skipper Son-Heung Min. The South Korean superstar is currently on international duty as he is participating in the Asian Cup.
Werner was previously a mainstay at Chelsea but became famous for the wrong reasons as he racked up several big misses at the club. Hopefully, his stint with the Lilywhites will be different.
He is technically gifted, can cover great distances pretty quickly and can press up high. All of these abilities will work great for Werner while he plays under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
