Spurs eager to close deal for Radu Dragusin soon amid Bayern interest
Keeping in mind the interest from other clubs, Tottenham Hotspur are increasing their efforts to get Radu Dragusin from Genoa on board. Napoli, AC Milan, and more importantly, Bayern Munich continue to show interest in signing the 21-year-old Romanian international apart from the Lilywhites.
According to Sky Sports Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio via his website, Genoa are working with Tottenham who continue to increase the offer by anticipating any additions of other teams.
Bayern, in particular, require centre-back reinforcements, with star defender Kim Min-jae unavailable for selection as he is a part of the South Korea team for the AFC Asian Cup throughout January, and if his team progress to the knockouts, which is very likely, goes into the second week of February.
A parallel update from Fabrizio Romano via Twitter talks about a potential deal for Dragusin involving sending Djed Spence on loan to the Serie A club for the rest of the season. The Lilywhites gain a double advantage here.
Not long now!
Spence recently returned from his loan spell at Leeds United after the Yorkshire club triggered his recall clause. Surplus to requirements at the N17 for now, sending the youngster on loan will help him gain valuable minutes in a new league.
Moreover, Spurs need centre-back reinforcements potentially more than any of their rival clubs in the Premier League. Micky van de Ven’s return from injury is a positive but as the Dutchman returned from his layoff, Cristian Romero now remains sidelined due to injury.
Ange Postecoglou has been trying out Emerson Royal and Ben Davies in central defence and while that has proven to be effective, Davies’ long-term future at the club is uncertain. In this scenario, it would be wise for Tottenham to venture into the market to get on board a profile like Dragusin.
Similar to a lot of Italian players, it is natural for Dragusin, a player who has played in Italy since the age of 17 to play like a regista from deep pockets. He can carry the ball, he can launch into tackles and is a great physical and aerial threat.

He would pair well with the likes of Micky and Cuti. Dragusin is a very versatile player who can function on the left side in a back three and can slot into a back four. One thing is for certain, he will give the manager a great deal of tactical adaptability.
