Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to miss the Manchester United clash
According to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay’s tweet on X, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will miss the crucial match against Manchester United this weekend.
Lo Celso has started out strong under Ange Postecoglou with four goal contributions in 12 appearances this season. He has been a good replacement for James Maddison in recent weeks and played an integral role as Tottenham beat Bournemouth 3-1 last time.
In the 1-0 victory against Burnley in the FA Cup on Friday, the Argentine made a significant impact. However, his contribution was cut short as he was forced to leave the pitch.
Even with the early return of Rodrigo Bentancur from injury, Tottenham’s midfield remains understaffed. Maddison is still on the sidelines but it looks like he will be back later this month. At the current AFCON 2024, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are representing their national teams.
It seems like luck is never on our side. Fortunately, it seems like this is more of a temporary measure rather than a significant long-term problem. However, Lo Celso’s ingenuity would have been greatly beneficial to us on Sunday. Now, it’s up to Dejan Kulusevski to ignite the team from the midfield.
Postecoglou’s midfield options are limited, especially when it comes to players with creative abilities. Dejan Kulusevski may make a return to the midfield on Sunday in the absence of Lo Celso, potentially resulting in a debut for Timo Werner.

The current situation with injuries at Spurs is also such that the loss of Lo Celso from Tottenham’s team will be greatly regretted as he provides a valuable attacking contribution to his side playing the role of midfielder.
With more games under his belt over the previous month, the midfielder managed to bag goals in two consecutive matches against Aston Villa and Man City. The hope is that we can have another positive result against United this coming weekend.
