Spurs landing the Dragusin deal might be a blockade for West Ham to land Albert Gudmundsson
Tottenham’s January signing might hammer down West Ham’s dream of signing Albert Gudmundsson. David Moyes‘ West Ham have been enjoying a fine season so far. The Hammers sit in sixth position in the league table currently.
However, the club is in a dire state following the increasing list of injured players. An attacking player is the need of the hour for Moyes and his side. Genoa winger Gudmundsson is on the top of the priority list for West Ham, per UK media outlet Mirror.
However, the move could somehow be blocked due to Tottenham, even though not directly. Ange Postecoglou has secured a strong defender by landing the Radu Dragusin. The Serie A outfit already cashed in one of their best players and losing another one within the same window seems unlikely.
On the other hand, the 26-year-old Iceland international would have been the perfect solution to West Ham’s problems. His experience and skill set are something the Londoners could have benefitted from.
How badly does Moyes need Gudmundsson?
West Ham will be without Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta for several weeks as the duo picked up injuries last weekend. Defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is another player to make it into the injury list within the club.
The Hammers need a threat up front and have shortlisted Ajax skipper Steven Bergwijn and Sunderland starlet Jack Clarke apart from Albert Gudmundsson. The Genoa forward has 13 goal involvements from 19 matches.
His fine form could have boosted West Ham’s progress within the Premier League this season. The Londoners are yet to make a formal offer but we can expect a move before the January window shuts. The Irons have been a nightmare for many big clubs within the Premier League so far this season.
