Tottenham Hotspur now learn the asking price for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher
According to the journalist Ben Jacob’s tweet on X, Tottenham Hotspur now know the asking price for talented Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Chelsea is now asking for a fee of approximately £45-50 million for the midfielder. It remains to be seen if Tottenham will choose to revive their interest in the player.
Tottenham Hotspur are clearly thin in midfield and need of more depth quality especially if Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg departs. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will not be on duty because they are travelling for international games in the African Cup of Nations.
Tottenham wants to get the Champions League qualification, but there are some issues which need to be considered in the January transfer window. They need to focus on signing a central midfielder and a centre defender.
Gallagher could be a true value to the firm. The 23-year-old has secured a place in the Premier League and can make substantial contributions to the London club.
In accordance with their policy, Chelsea consider offers for players who have less than two years remaining on their contract, provided that negotiations for a contract extension are not going well. Currently, Gallagher is far from reaching a new agreement.
At just 23 years old, he has taken on the responsibility of captaining Chelsea in the absence of Reece James. Gallagher expressed his appreciation for the privilege of leading out the team.
Although leaving Chelsea is not currently on his agenda, there has been no significant progress regarding a contract extension, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to retain him. If the situation remains unchanged leading up to the summer, Gallagher will have full control over his future, as his contract is set to expire in the next year.
