Tottenham Hotspur are keen to make a midfielder their third January signing
Tottenham Hotspur is arguably the busiest club this January. The North Londoners have already secured Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin. The Londoners are however looking at a third option, per British media outlet The Times [subscription required].
Tottenham has filled much-needed spots in their defence and offence. The injury of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero’s recklessness urged Ange Postecoglou to fish for defenders. The 21-year-old Radu Dragusin is expected to add a strong presence in the Spurs backline.
On the other hand, the departure of the club’s prolific goal scorer Harry Kane created a big void up front. Son Heung-min and James Maddison stepped up to fill that gap. Timo Werner’s addition to the ranks should make things easy for the London club.
The Lilywhites boss now has his eyes on the midfield. However, the club will have to offload some of their players to facilitate more incoming. Eric Dier has already left the club. So did Dejd Spence on loan. This should facilitate easy incomings of players.
Spots empty at the heart of Spurs midfield?
Tottenham have secured their primary targets after bringing Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The biggest challenge that lies with Ange Postecoglous is dealing with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s exit rumours.
Should the Danish international bid farewell to North London, Postecoglou will have to immediately find his replacement. That signing could be the third signing for the club this January.
James Maddison is still recovering from the ankle injury, further emphasizing the need for a midfielder for the Lilywhites. Ange Postecoglou is relying on his part-timers and inexperienced players on rotation as of now.

The club do not have a solid target as of now. Considering the need of the hour, the club should eye for an experienced rather than a youngster. Spurs currently occupy the fifth spot in the league table. The quality of the squad will assure them a top-four spot, if not league glory.
