What new Tottenham signing Radu Dragusin’s disciplinary record looks like

Radu Dragusin’s proactive defensive techniques might raise eyebrows among Spurs fans

Romanian international Radu Dragusin is one official announcement from being Tottenham Hotspur’s second January signing. He is all set to complete his move to England from Genoa, per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Dragusin was one of the top targets for Ange Postecoglou, who was desperately looking to sign a defender this winter window. The lack of defensive options has been one of the major reasons for Spurs’ downfall this season. The former Genoa man has been influential for his team on the defensive front.

He is expected to fill the void at the backline for the North Londoners. However, the only fear is his style of play. The Lilywhites have found themselves in a dire state following a lack of discipline from Cristian Romero and Yves Bissouma.

Radu Dragusin has a fearless style of play and is front-footed just like Cristian Romero. However, his disciplinary record isn’t that bad. According to Transfermarkt, Dragusin has received just 11 yellow cards in 145 games and no red cards.

Radu Dragusin will face the test of his lifetime

No matter how skilful the Romanian might be, he is just 21 years old. There is much experience to gain. Moreover, he has never played in a league as much challenging as the Premier League before.

The fans and the opponents might be harsher than he would expect. There are high chances Dragusin can be easily riled up during the game and be lured to earn a booking. Considering the aggression, it seems like the Romanian will have to keep ice-cold nerves while playing in England.

On the other hand, the fans might be hoping Dragusin spends less time around Cristian Romero in the training ground. Young players are expected to mimic their seniors within the squad. As far as Dragusin mirrors Cristian Romero’s defensive prowess, Tottenham are well secured for the rest of the campaign.
