Dimitar Berbatov backs Manchester United to defeat Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov has made predictions ahead of United’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur, via The Mirror. There will only be limited fixtures this weekend due to winter break. Many players, especially from Spurs, are away on international duty.
Berbatov predicts his former team to win 1-0 at home against Spurs, which is also his former team. Three positions and eight points separate the duo from each other. The Lilywhites sit 5th on the league table with 39 points. Dimitar Berbatov says,
“I can see this being a tight game and I’m going to say it will be 1-0 to United. It sounds boring, but I hope that’s not the case. I think there’s a lot at stake for both teams. That can sometimes play with your mind and make you not produce your best game possible.”
The former Red Devils striker has emphasised that neither team will be able to produce their best game due to the pressure. This is the second time the sides face each other in the Premier League this season.
What the clash mean for both
Manchester United were unfortunate to face Tottenham Hotspur back in August when the Londoners were on a hot run. Ange Postecoglou’s side defeated Erik ten Hag’s team two goals to nil.
Even though the North London residents slipped a few positions just as their form, the club has now picked up their fine form again. On the other hand, things are still shaky at Old Trafford. Also, United haven’t cashed in on the January transfer window as Tottenham.
Ange has secured Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin to fortify their side. This should add pressure on Manchester United ahead of their clash. Dimitar Berbatov’s predictions seem to be a bit off considering the facts at hand.
