Tottenham want to make Wolves star their third signing in January after Dragusin, Werner moves

Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes could be Tottenham Hotspur’s third January signing

Tottenham Hotspur’s busy January could get busier as the club is eyeing for Wolves’ Joao Gomes, per Portuguese media outlet Fla Web. The North London club have secured Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner since the January window opened up.

Ange Postecoglou was in desperate need of a defender after losing Micky Van de Ven to injury and Cristian Romero’s poor disciplinary records. The 21-year-old Dragusin seemed like a perfect fit, hence, he was roped in by Postecoglou.

Timo Werner’s arrival as a loanee will add more depth to Tottenham’s attacking setup. Werner’s inclusion comes as a blessing during January as Son will be caught up with national duties. Midfield is the next zone that Ange would like to strengthen.

The young Portuguese midfielder is identified as a potential target for the club. It is reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers will accept nothing below €35 million for the midfielder.

The immense depth in Tottenham’s midfield

Ange Postecoglou is one lucky manager! The Spurs head coach received massive help from his players while he struggled with injuries and suspensions. The midfield setup is quite stacked. The star-studded lineup includes Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso and Yves Bissouma.

However, some are nursing injuries at the moment, including the star of the team — James Maddison. On the other hand, rumours about Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s exit have tapped the panic button for Ange Postecoglou. He should now actively pursue a skilful midfielder.

The 22-year-old is a proven figure at the Molineux Stadium. His strong presence could be useful for the Lilywhites manager. Now that Yves Bissouma is having trouble with discipline, competition within the squad can straighten things.
