All you need to know about Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur are arguably the most active club this transfer window and the Lilywhites are currently pursuing Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa to bolster their offensive depth.

The Norwegian winger is unknown to many but not to the scouts. The 20-year-old prodigy has been turning heads for all the right reasons. Predominantly a left-winger, Nusa can also excel in the centre.

He is more of a provider than a goal scorer with commendable dribbling abilities. Antonio Nusa arrived at Club Brugge from Stabaek in 2021. He has registered three goals and three assists from 26 games this season.

He signed a contract renewal last April that runs until summer 2027. Club Brugge can use this as a bargain to set a decent price tag for their youngster. Nusa was approached by Chelsea last year, according to The Athletic. The move didn’t materialize and Nusa stayed in Belgium.

Ange Postecoglou’s desperate chase

The Aussie manager landed Timo Werner on loan this January. The purchase was made to fill the void in the Spurs attack following Heung-min Son’s absence. The Tottenham skipper is currently serving national duty with Korea in the Asian Cup.

The club is also suffering from James Maddison’s injury. The former Leicester City man was instrumental in Tottenham’s success earlier this season. The setback left Ange Postecoglou chasing fine talents from across Europe.

He decided on Timo Werner as the German boasts prior experience in the Premier League. Going for Antonio Nusa sounds like a good plan but not at present. Spurs will be having their deadly duo Maddison and Son back in the squad soon.

The latest signing Timo Werner has reprised his role as a left winger. Having another left-winger with far less experience sounds like a tricky move. However, if the Spurs gaffer is looking for a long-term goal, then the Nusa chase makes perfect sense.
