Sami Mokbel earmarks Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison as ‘unpredictable’
Daily Mail’s chief football journalist Sami Mokbel spoke about the mysterious character of Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison on The Spurs Chat Podcast. The football expert’s claims were backed by the recent past endured by the Brazilian striker.
The Spurs striker has now hit the purple patch by scoring six goals in the last seven games. On the other hand, he endured a goalless drought for nearly 18 months. The striker can be seen doing the pigeon celebration but also being feisty on the pitch. Mokbel says:
“Yeah there is interest from the Saudi League and there has been. That his historical and I imagine that will come to fruition and it will come to the table again, but he’s a competitive guy from what I understand Richarlison. The money is fantastic in Saudi, but we’re already seeing some of the players going over there and regretting it”.
The journo believes Richarlison will move to the Saudi Pro League in the future but also says that the Brazilian might turn it down as he is too confident of a player.
Richarlison — The epitome of the fighting spirit
If you look at Richarlison’s career graph, you will see obvious growth. The Espirito Santo-born forward has only moved to a club bigger than his past. Richarlison shuffled three clubs between 2015 and 2018 in an attempt to find greener pastures.
He found his footing in Everton and stayed with the Toffees for four seasons. He was reunited with his Watford manager Marco Silva and endured a fine tenure with him. He signed a five-year contract extension with the Merseysiders but dropped them like a bag of potatoes when Spurs came knocking.
His horrendous start to life in North London saw the Brazilian score just one goal from 27 league games. Harry Kane’s departure ahead of the 2023/24 season left the onus on Richarlison’s shoulder, which wasn’t handled well by him. He scored just one goal from the first 12 games.
