Tottenham are prepared to speed up Antonio Nusa proceedings upon facing immense competition
Tottenham Hotspur are progressing on the Antonio Nusa deal with Club Brugge, per journo Fabrizio Romano. Romano tweeted about Tottenham’s knowledge concerning the competition for the Norwegian. The North Londoners are speeding up the process to seal the deal.
Fabrizio tweeted that the discussions are now on the next stage. However, Antonio Nusa isn’t keen on leaving the Belgian side mid-season. This will force Tottenham to wait until summer. He is tied to the club until 2027. The 20-year-old winger is enjoying a decent run with his current club.
The Norway international has three goals and two assists in the Jupiler Pro League as of now. Sky Sports mentions other major Premier League clubs, including Brentford, wanting Nusa by their side. Chelsea had attempted to sign the prodigy last summer.
The move didn’t go through, however. The media outlet also shared the chart with players who boast most dribbles per 90 minutes and Nusa topped it with 10.30 dribbles.
Ange Postecoglou is readying for the future
The lack of squad depth affected Ange Postecoglou the most during this season. His 10-game unbeaten run was followed by a series of disappointments following injuries and suspensions. It all started with the absence of his solid centre-back duo.
Micky van de Ven’s injury and Cristian Romero’s suspension hurt Ange badly. Things got worse after James Maddison picked up an ankle injury and of course, there’s Yves Bissouma who does not possess an incredible disciplinary record. January transfer window came as a ray of hope for the Tottenham gaffer.
He used the opportunity to sign Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner to fortify his squad. The latter is expected to step up in Son’s absence. Having Antonio Nusa will add more depth to the Tottenham team, however the left winger position will then be a tricky spot. Timo Werner has reprised his ‘winger’ role under Ange Postecoglou. It is also Antonio Nusa’s natural position.

Should Postecoglou have both of these men in the squad, the chances are high that Timo Werner will move to the centre of the pitch as he is more versatile. But there is also Richarlison. Nevertheless, the task will be daunting for the Spurs manager and an interesting story for the fans to pursue.
